Who we are

BS&A’s mission is to provide cutting-edge engineering services to quantify and manage safety and security risks, design protective solutions, and develop and test technologies for the construction, energy and defence markets.

We are independent and 100% owned by our employees. Our technical opinions do not depend on any manufacturer or group.

From simulation to testing, and on to our software, each line of work has built on the previous ones. One team follows you from the first question to the final report.

Our story

    Protect

    Even before BS&A was founded, its founders were protecting sensitive sites against explosions: ammunition depots, defence installations, operators of vital importance.

    Simulate

    Advanced numerical simulation follows the shock wave, the response of structures and cascading effects, where simplified calculation stops. It has become our main strength.

  3. 03

    Test

    Since 2019, we have conducted our own full-scale blast tests on our own site: testing to European standards, or research where no standard applies.

    Equip

    Since 2022, we have turned our methods into engineering software, backed by our tests: every result is traceable and verifiable.

    Management and engineering

    Civil engineer, co-founder. He heads the firm and takes an active part in advancing the field and in innovation.

  • Patrick MARTIN

    Partner engineer – co-founder

    Former colonel in the French military engineering corps (Service Fortifications et Travaux, ex-CETID), former head of the explosives and testing laboratory, co-founder. He brings over forty years of experience in protecting sites against blast and impact effects.
